Children's Book Update: Title page, 2

Title page, (missing copyright page), First and second page! The hand lettering was really fun and something that I think may become a signature for me. Who knows, maybe I'll get a job at Hallmark doing lettering if necessary ;) This is my new favourite character! I love him. I need to finalize the otter, since he lacks character and resembles a North American otter as opposed to the giant river otter of the Amazon. I am loving working with the dip pen, oh how I have missed it so. I am looking forward to doing the final artwork, especially since I am doing all of the line art right now. I am going to adjust the line work value and tone digitally and do washes of colour underneath that. My teach told me he's gonna push me to go as far as possible since we are going to publish it. I have been putting this off for a while, but now I feel much more confident in my abilities.

I also finished my illustration for Hodges, 2 days ahead of schedule, since it is also for Lindsey's Canvases for Change show shindig. I helped out with the entrance painting and stuff and it's going to be awesome. If anyone is around, it is Tuesday, October 14, from 7-11pm in the Crossley Gallery. There will be food, music, candidate info for the election and lots of groovy, political/societal work.

I have a meeting for the Arts & Crafts show (Jewish Housing Council) on Wednesday and bought some canvases to force myself to paint. That is this Sunday, October 19, from 11am-5pm. Should be interesting.

Rodin Museum, Paris

Children at Rodin Museum pond, Paris. They were American with a French father and were sketching a lot, as their mother is an artist. It was fascinating to see them so naturally recording what they saw, visually.
